What discounts are available on PASS PRO products? |

PASS PRO
offers discounts on the full PASS PRO Review Program available
for the CFA exam at Levels I and II and for the FRM exam.
You will receive the discount at the time of purchase.
Simply enter your code in the discount code box on the
purchase page, where it says "If you have a discount
code, please apply it here". Any price changes
will immediately take effect on this page. You can only
qualify for one type of discount: either the CFA
Institute Bookstore code the Buddy
code or a Corporate Discount code.
Discount codes are not applied to your account, they
just change the price at the time of purchase, and the
discount code that gets used is the one which was entered
last. This means you can apply one code at a time (if
you have more than one code at hand) to see which one
affects the price most, and then go for that code/price. |

What is my CFA Institute Bookstore order number (P.O.#)? |
|

If you bought your books on the CFA Institute Bookstore online, you can find your
CFA Institute Bookstore order number - P.O.# - on your order confirmation, or
in the email you received from CFA Institute Bookstore entitled "Order Information".
This number also appears in the shipping invoice that you received with your books.
You must enter your order number - P.O.# - on the purchase page, where it says
"If you have a discount code, please apply it here". Important
note: the CFA Institute Bookstore order number should be a number like
'00 3xxxxxx' or '00 4xxxxxx'. Enter the seven-digit number starting with either
a three or a four and ignore the two zeros at the beginning. If you cannot find

Why doesn't my CFA Institute Bookstore order number give me discount for PASS
PRO Notes or Questions? |

CFA Institute Bookstore discount only applies to people who purchase PASS PRO
review program, which contains study notes, questions, mocks, study plan, and
discussions. With this discount we are effectively reimbursing you the cost
of the study notes since you have chosen to use the textbooks.
If you bought your books on the CFA Institute Bookstore online, you should
have received a number in the confirmation email that looks like '00 3xxxxxx'
or '00 4xxxxxx'. This number also appears in the shipping invoice that you received

is the Buddy Code and how does it work? |

The Buddy
Program is a referral scheme enables you to pass on a
discount to your friends for purchase of PASS PRO products
and also earn PASS PRO credits for yourself.
How the Buddy Program works
If you buy PASS PRO, you can then use your Buddy Code
to give your friends and colleagues a $25 discount when
they buy the PASS PRO Review Program. In addition, you
will receive a $25 credit to your PASS PRO account.
The Buddy discounts and credits are only available for
the purchase of full PASS PRO Review Program.
How to recommend PASS PRO to your friends
To recommend PASS PRO, give your Buddy Code to your
friends and tell them to enter this code in the discount
box on the purchase page. Please note - you must not
post your Buddy Code on auction websites or discussion
forums.
How to use a Buddy Code that you have been given by
a friend
If a friend, who is already a PASS PRO user, has given
you a Buddy Code, you need to enter it on the purchase

Do I get discounts as a returning user? |

PASS PRO offers several opportunities for existing users to earn credits:
- by responding to surveys,
- by referring friends to buy PASS PRO, and
- by participating on PASS PRO Discussion forums. These credits can
be used against the purchase of any PASS PRO programs.

| What software do I need in order to run PASS PRO on my computer? |
|
|

PASS PRO only requires you
to have a browser (preferably Internet Explorer 4.01 or better) with
a Flash player 4 or better installed on it. A test for the plug-in is
automatically run on the PASS PRO login/registration page, and it should
read as follows "Flash Player test successful". The latest
version of this plug-in is available free of charge from Macromedia.com.
It will take you no more than 30 seconds to install.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is another plug-in that is required to access certain
features in PASS PRO like CFA® Demystified™ and CFA® Condensed.
This plug-in from Adobe is also free and quick to download
if your browser doesn't already have it. |

| What is Flash Player? / How do I download and install the Flash Player? |
|
|
|
|
Flash Player an industry standard program that works with your browser
to enable you to see animations and interactive course content. It can
be downloaded within a few seconds.
Flash Player is distributed free of charge by Macromedia, the software
company who created it. To download the Player go to www.macromedia.com/downloads
and follow the instructions to download and install Flash Player.
If ActiveX controls and plug-ins are disabled on your web browser you
may not be able to download and install the Player. To check that ActiveX
controls and plug-ins are not disabled, and take action to enable them,
use the following process:
Internet Explorer:
1. Go to Tools Internet Options in the main toolbar (ALT T > O).
2. Select the Security tab in the pop-up window and press the Custom
Level button.
3. At the top of the Security Setting window are a number of items relating
to ActiveX controls. Check that the following items are enabled:
Download signed ActiveX controls
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
If you are within a corporate network, the firewall may prevent you
downloading the Flash Player. If this is the case please contact the
PASS PRO support team or your firm's IT support desk and request assistance.

| How do I know if I have the correct version of Flash Player installed? |
|
|
|
|
A test for the plug-in is automatically
run on the PASS PRO login/registration page, and it should read as follows
"Flash Player test successful" (the test is positioned at the
top of the yellow registration form). If the test shows any other result
(like: "You do not have a recent Flash Player") it is recommended
that you follow the steps required to update your Flash
Player (which is a quick and simple process) |

| Can browser settings disable Flash content from playing correctly? |
|
|
|
| Yes. If ActiveX controls and plug-ins are disabled
on your web browser PASS PRO for CFA will not function correctly.
To check that ActiveX controls and plug-ins are not disabled, and take action
to enable them, use the following process:

| What is Acrobat PDF? / How do I download and install the Acrobat Reader? |
|
|
|
|
Adobe Acrobat Reader is free software that lets you view and print
Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Some of the printable material
in PASS PRO has been created in Acrobat PDF.
Acrobat Reader is distributed free of charge by Adobe, the software
company who created it. To download the Reader go to www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
and follow the instructions to download and install Acrobat Reader.

| Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use PASS PRO™? |
|
|
|
| Yes. The PASS PRO system is only available
online. Tracking your performance over time is an important feature of this
product. This requires communication between the product and our web servers.
You will be able to compare your performance with the other relevant PASS
PRO users, which gives a good indication of how well you are doing
in relation to the other candidates taking the exam this year. |

| Can I use PASS PRO™ from multiple locations? |
|
|
|
| Yes, you can log into PASS PRO anytime,
anywhere, from your computer at home, office, cybercafe, etc.
PASS PRO works as a web service (in much the same way as Hotmail, MSN
or AOL). It stores your performance data on centralized database servers,
so that your records will always be synchronized regardless of where
you login. |

| Why doesn't anything happen when I click an exam button on the PASS PRO homepage? |
|
|
|
|
When you click the exam button
on PASS PRO homepage, you should see a login page pop up that takes you
to the program for the chosen exam. If you do not see this popup try
the following solutions.
1) Switch JavaScript on. To do this click on Tools in the top menu
bar of your browser > then click Internet options > then click
the tab called Security > then click the button that says Custom
level. Scroll down the page to where it says Scripting. There make sure
that next three options (Active Scripting, Allow paste operations via
script, and Scripting of Java applets are enabled.
2) If step 1 does not work it is because you have disabled a program
to block popup adverts that is also blocking the PASS PRO login page
from opening. You may need to uninstall this program or replace it with
one that allows the login window to open.
3) Install the Flash Player again.

Is PASS PRO available on CD-ROM? |
|
|

No. PASS PRO is not available
on CD-ROM. It is only available online but you can print off notes, questions
and mock exams for offline study. |

Will I receive any material by shipping from PASS PRO after my purchase? |
|
|
|
|
No. PASS PRO is online based.
After purchasing any PASS PRO product, you can login immediately to view
the content online or print it for offline study. PASS PRO will not be
shipping you any books. |

How does the study plan work? |
|
|
|
|
The PASS PRO study plan will
help you to cover all the maternal for the CFA exam. The study plan takes
you through the notes, questions and mock exams in an organized manner
to ensure you are fully prepared going into the exam. In each week, you
will receive assignments that require you to read study notes and practice
with questions. At the end of the study plan, you will be given relevant
mocks to test your performance of the exam. Starting 2004 we are also
offering audio lectures in the study plan, which act as great introductions
to the readings before you start doing the study notes or questions. |

Do
PASS PRO notes cover all the CFA Institute required reading? |

Yes. PASS PRO
notes are based entirely on the recommended readings and
cover every single Learning Outcome Statement in CFA Institute's
Study Guide. Every Reading Assignment in the Study Guide
is available as a lesson in PASS PRO notes, which can
be viewed online or printed for offline study. The sections
within each lesson have a one-to-one correspondence with
Learning Outcome Statements for the given Reading Assignment. |

Why can I not see all the notes? |
|
|
|
|
The notes for the June 2004 exam are currently being added. The full set of notes will be available by the end of January 2004. Until then will keep adding notes for various readings as they are developed. We are also ensuring the notes are available in order dictated by the schedule of the study plans. |
